Biography

Susan Jaffe, M.D. is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst. She received her medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine.  She has held faculty appointments at New York University School of Medicine and SUNY Downstate Medical Center.  She currently is a faculty member of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute.   Dr. Jaffe has been in private practice for 20+ years.

Dr. Jaffe has worked successfully with patients from their late teens to mid 70’s with problems ranging from adjustment to college, relationship issues and concerns about health and aging.  She's experienced in treating job stress and worries about achieving success.  Dr. Jaffe treats disorders sometimes requiring medication such as anxiety and depression. 

In addition to her private practice, she supervises psychiatry residents, psychologists and social workers.
